Zhiyu Xíao is the Emperor of the chines empire after his father had passed the throne to him. A condition to gaining the throne was that Zhiyu had to get married.

Without any choice he was married to the princess of a fellow Emperor, Jin yao, a beautiful yet cunning and deceiving woman.

Zhiyu may be married to Jín Yáo but he doesn't love her. Not one bit. He never loved anyone.
