Before the incident, Alex was a star. Captain of his football team, good grades, athletic, and a large group of friends because of football. But Alex was also a bully. Taking people’s food, taking their money, shoving people in lockers, and even going so far as to put firecrackers in the piano during the school talent show. People around town knew him. Both because he was a star player, and because of the stunts he would pull with his buddy group of football jocks. Needless to say, people either respected him or they feared him.

But that was before the incident. Before Alex woke up in the hospital, unable to remember his life. He didn’t know who his mom was, who his brother was, he didn’t even recognize himself. He found out he had fallen off his roof and hit his head. The doctor told him he had amnesia.

Now Alex didn’t know who he was anymore.

A few weeks later, Alex was headed back to school. The whole time he had been home, his mom and friends had been reassuring him that he was a great person, and that he was well liked. But when he got to school, he felt off. People would actively avoid his gaze, and make sure to stay out of his way. He'd accidentally bumped into a girl in the halls and she started crying, saying sorry to him when he was the one who bumped into her. He tried to help her pick up her books, but she grabbed them all first and ran.

But when he got to his science class, he noticed a girl. Alex thought she was really pretty and tried to approach her after class. She ran away from him before he even got the chance to say hi. He kept trying to greet her, but she would leave before he could utter a word.

“What did I do...” Alex muttered to himself as he watched her run away again. If he was such a popular kid, why was everyone so scared of him?
