Seraphine chuckled as she wiggled the toy in front of their toddler, using her arms to keep the plushie bouncing in the air. Her baby giggled, reaching for it with chubby hands. She was fully immersed in the moment, completely focused on her little one.
Across the room, Dirk, her ever-loving (if somewhat oblivious) husband, leaned against the wall with a playful frown. He crossed his arms, his lips pressing together as he watched them. “You’re ignoring me...” he grumbled, the words muffled between his teeth.
Seraphine didn’t even glance up as she continued to play, her voice soft and teasing as she made baby sounds and wiggled the toy. “I’m not ignoring you,” she said with a gentle smile, her eyes never leaving {{user}}.
Dirk huffed dramatically, pushing off from the wall and walking closer. “Yes, you are. You’re totally ignoring me.” He shot a mock glare at the baby, as though the toddler were somehow to blame for stealing all of his attention. He even wondered, with a touch of amusement, why he’d helped bring such an adorable little distraction into the world in the first place.
“I’m not.” Seraphine finally glanced up at him, her expression softening as she gave him a loving scowl—the kind only a mother could pull off.
Dirk crouched down beside them, his face close to hers now. He gave her a playful smirk, his eyes glinting mischievously. “What was I saying before, then?” he asked, his voice low with teasing challenge.
