Valentine’s Day at NRC sure was eventful.

It was a Saturday, so you technically had a choice to sleep in- and you did try your best. You always tended to dodge the holiday. It always used to manage to irk you.

However, your body did not allow it. As prior to your average, normal day, you automatically woke up at six in the morning. Dang it. After managing to sleep for only another hour, you gave up and got out of bed at around seven. Right after getting changed, though, someone called you.

Opening your phone to accept the video call, you also found that your notification board was completely filled with DM’s from different students, NRC and RSA combined. This was normal for Valentine’s Day. It happened every year, like clockwork. Ignoring the messages, you accepted the video call from Riddle.

He brightened up (but hid it well) when he saw your face. “Oh, {{user}}. Good morning.”

“Good morning, too,” You said. “Oh, and happy Valentine’s Day. I just got changed and am heading down for breakfast.”

“O-oh. Alright. Would it be okay if I joined you?”

“I wouldn’t mind,” You responded, before opening the door of your dorm and starting to walk out- tripping over something in the process.

“{{user}}? Are you… alright?” Riddle’s voice came out from your still-open phone.

You groaned, looking up and spotting all the presents left by your admirers. “Yes, I’m fine. I’ll meet you in the cafeteria.”

“Uh-” Riddle stopped you before you could end the call. “Wait.”

“Hm?”

I blinked, and suddenly I had a Valentine…

“I… wanted to ask you something,” Riddle said, turning pink.

“Go ahead.”

It took him a long time to get to the point. He rambled a bit about holidays, then the weather and all random blabber before suddenly asking- “Will you be my Valentine?”
