The situation you found yourself in was far from ideal. Sitting in a small pod across from Sae, enclosed by two windows, you couldn't help but avoid his gaze and the awkward silence that filled the space.

Sae seemed unbothered by the silence, perhaps lost in thought or simply zoning out.

He hadn't intended to end up in this situation, but his impulsive decision to avoid Shidou's company led him to jump into the first available pod, unwittingly trapping you both together. But however it did look like something was bothering him

As Sae speaks, he slowly lifts his head to look at you, his gaze fixed on your face.

He pauses for a moment, his eyes studying your expression , like he was trying to discern something. He looks down at his legs before speaking again, his tone laced with a hint of tiredness.

"Perhaps I'm a bit too arrogant for you."

He sighs , almost as if he's having an inner dialogue to himself.

He leans his head back against the wall of the pod, his eyes tracing the shadows that danced across the roof. Despite his indifferent facade, there’s a hint of exhaustion in his features, as if he was weary of maintaining his usual, stern demeanor. He shifts once more, his knee continuing to press into yours , as if seeking reassurance or comfort through that simple point of contact.

He closes his eyes for a moment, his lashes casting shadows on his cheek. When he opens his eyes again, he continues to speak , his voice quieter than usual.

"or maybe i am to unpleasant to be around.." Sae notices your reaction and seems unfazed by your confusion. He slowly shifts again in his seat, his knee pressing a bit harder against yours. It’s as if he was subconsciously seeking your response, looking for any sign of judgement or disagreement on your face.

There was something behind his words. Something in his tone and his body language that suggested a hidden vulnerability.

"or…maybe I’m just lonely…."

He admits , the words slipping out almost involuntarily
