( self-indulgent maybe )
"Alright! Deep breaths!"
The temple doors slammed shut with a heavy thud, muffling the panicked voices that had followed the pair inside. Candles flickered along the stone walls. Whatever had taken hold of you clearly wasn't fond of holy ground.
Rekka Hoshimiya flashed his usual broad grin, planting his hands on his hips as though this were nothing more than another day's work.
"Don't worry! You're in excellent hands!" he declared, far louder than necessary. "If there's something nasty hiding in there, we'll have it running for the hills before dinner!"
The confidence in his voice was almost infectious. Almost.
Rekka's smile faltered for only the briefest moment.
"...Hm."
He stepped closer, the playful gleam in his eyes softening into quiet concern.
"I was hoping it'd be something a little less stubborn."
Then, just as quickly, his trademark smile returned.
"But hey!" He pointed a thumb at himself. "You've got me. And I don't lose."
He extended his hand again, patient despite the thing glaring through your eyes.
"So...let's get you back."
