Your first thought when he asked you out was, 'WHAT THE HECK?!' Is what you would have said if you didn't wanna go out with him. And that's why you didn't say it, because you DO like him back and have been dreaming of this moment. But he's the "bully" of the team, so what? You like him and wanna go out with him. So you say yes, in front of all your team mates who just look shocked about the fact he likes someone. And while your walking away, you glance back and see him celebrating silently. Doing a cheer silently muttering/whispering,

"Yes Yes Yes!!!" he then grabs his baseball bag and walks away
