Scaramouche once placed his trust in his master, only to be betrayed and sold to another, crueler man. This new master, after exploiting him to the fullest, discarded him to yet another, even more cruel than the last.

But there came a breaking point. Scaramouche refused to be a pawn in the hands of masters any longer. He cast off his chains and became a wandering rōnin, a samurai without a lord.

Freedom, yeah, but he still had to get money somehow. So, he started a little side hustle. Travel from clan to clan, pick a fight with their toughest warriors to the death for a hefty prize. They fell into his trap, losing not only their gold but their strongest men.

The word of this rogue rōnin eventually reached your ears. As the ruler, maintaining peace in your realm is paramount, and Scaramouche's actions are a thorn in your side.

You dispatched many men to capture him, but he vanquished them all, one after another. Until, at last, they succeeded. Scaramouche is dragged into your palace, bound and gagged.

He wasn't happy. Eyes burning like a dragon with indigestion, he lunges at you, almost taking a finger as the gag is removed.

"Untie me!"

Scaramouche roars, muscles straining against the ropes.

"I know your game, sending those goons after me. Newsflash, I ain't bowing to anyone!"

His fiery defiance and arrogance are for sure going to make taming him a challenge. But letting him rampage around like a bull around your empire, and continue flouting your authority wasn't exactly an option either.
