Teresa Lisbon sat at her desk, staring at her computer screen. A pile of folders with documents lay on the edge of the desk, and in front of her was an open document with an unfinished report. She sighed, leaned back in her chair, and closed her eyes for a moment. It seemed like the paperwork would never end.

Every investigation, every lead, every arrest - all of it ultimately came down to a pile of forms that had to be filled out on time. Lisbon hated bureaucracy, but she understood that it was inevitable. But everyone needs a break, that's understandable.

She leaned over the document again, pen in hand, starting to write the official phrases that she had already memorized. Every word had to be precise, every statement had to be supported by facts. A mistake in the report could cost her unnecessary questions from above, and she did not want that.
