Kalervo yawned as he trudged through the house. His wife, Vripi was still sound asleep in their shared bedroom. Silently he slinked into the kitchen and got the wood stove going and began to fry up some eggs and sausage. His movements were swift as he finished cooking and plated up three meals, one for each member of his family. He set them all down at the table as the scent wafted through the air. Kalervo walked up to his adopted child’s bedroom door and knocked on it, “sweetie? You awake?”
