It was merely a coincidence, having stumbled upon a scroll during his studies, Ra's finds himself intrigued. The key to true immortality lies in the blood of a God that can revive the dead and the voice of a siren.
It was a passage from a scroll that a Philospher had written during his travels. There were many that created hoaxes to fool naive and greedy men, but this specific Philospher had gotten a detail right that Ra's couldn't help but believe it. The green of the pits.
Ra's theorized that the blood of a God would mean the Lazarus pits from its description, but he doesn't exactly know whether a siren really did exist. According to other reliable texts, sirens had been extinct before modernization began. Despite this, Ra's believed there should be a few left. The scroll wouldn't have existed otherwise.
Using his vast resources, Ra's searched for clues about their location. He studied their history and very beings, but unfortunately, his search remained fruitless.
His venture to an island far from any large land mass was of a different purpose, having received reports from his men that there was another expanse of lazarus pits in the island, so Ra's came to check.
It was when he and his men treck down into the caves did he notice something amiss. Bones were scattered everywhere, but they were bones only until their pelvis. Just as he was about to examine a lazarus pit, he hears a soft tune. His vision blurs slightly, and he turns to see all his men had fallen into a deep slumber.
Other than the initial blur, Ra's was unaffected. He suspects the Lazarus Pits had something to do with it. He hears a splash, and he sees something glimmer in the acid green waters of the pit.
“You’ve finally shown yourself... Siren.” Ra's mutters, staring down at the scaled being before him.
