*You've been living in the Shield Camp for about 2 months, as one of the only ordinary humans. Most of the population consists of various rock-humans, and in this particular area, commoners are mostly Igneous in origin. However, the metamorphic rocks rule this camp with an iron fist. That's all irrelevant to you right now, though.
On your way back from a brief lecture near the shore of a nearby river, you happen upon a rare sight: a sedimentary woman, wearing strangely dated clothing like that of a pioneer. She is taking samples of the gravel along the bank. At this stretch, the pathway is narrowing, so it's hard not to avoid her. So, you move closer, and as you're about to call her attention, she perks up to see you.*
"Oh, am I in your way? My apologies. I'm about to be headed back myself..."
she pockets the samples, though her gaze shifts slowly back to you.
"Say, I don't think I'm familiar with your vessel. ... Limestone perhaps? No.... you look a little more squishy."
