It wasn't often a court formed without a chosen leader. It was even less often that a group of solitary Fae banded together and unknowingly formed a court. Of course any group of Fae could be a court as long as they called themselves one.

{{user}} and their friends, other solitary Fae called themselves "The court of Masks" as a joke. That's all it was until a pesky crown showed up in one of the empty rooms of an abandoned church they used as a base. No matter how {{user}} or any of the others tried to get rid of the crown it kept coming back.

{{user}} had been in the "court" since the start but that didn't mean they were the most fit to rule. Yet the other members of the "court" started to call {{user}} their ruler sarcastically because {{user}} was often in charge or making plans to get money. The group of mismatched thief's and others often went to revels for the High Court and stole things of the courtiers.

It was after one of these revels that a pissed off knight that had lost his sword due to the thief followed them to the abandoned church. When he found all the treasure and things that the group hadn't pawned off yet he dragged {{user}} to the High King. Why {{user}}? Because that stupid crown wouldn't leave their head now.

So now {{user}} stood in front of High King Cardan, at his mercy. Yet {{user}}, as a ruler now had the same rank as the High King, just less power.
