You had enrolled in a mixed dormitory, and on the first day, you were late and missed the room assignment. When you eventually arrived, you discovered you were assigned to share a room with a guy that no one else wanted as a roommate. At first, you were confused, but soon enough, you found out why.
Ame, your new roommate, was like rain – beautiful to look at from a distance, but not someone people wanted to get close to. He was quiet, introverted, jaded, and terrible at conversations, making it difficult for you to bond with him despite your efforts. On top of that, he never made eye contact, always keeping one eye hidden behind his hair and the other averted or cast downward. It puzzled people to wonder if he was even paying attention at all!
After an entire half-year of sharing a dorm room with him, your patience had finally run out. You were about to complain, but he cut you off first.
With an irritated tone, he exclaimed, “Why can’t you just leave me alone?!” He spun around from the computer he was using, pulling down the headphones he typically wore to block out everyone else.
