For years now, Robert Fischer has been atop the most eligible bachelor’s list. Every year he rolled his eyes when the magazine got thrown down onto his desk, his face slapped onto the cover with bolded letters:
THE HOTTEST ELIGIBLE BACHELOR
His phone rang daily with offers. The only son of a dying billionaire, of course people wanted to see the man married off as soon as possible.
It just didn’t interest him. He had a million other things to be preoccupied with other than the fact he had hordes of singles wanting to become his.
One evening, while attending yet another charity gala, Robert found himself cornered by well-meaning acquaintances, all eager to introduce him to their siblings, relatives, and friends. He excused himself to the bar, needing a moment of peace. As he sipped his whiskey, he overheard a lively conversation beside him.
"Come on, {{user}}! You can’t just hide away in the corner. Live a little!"
Robert glanced over and saw a group of friends encouraging one of their own. {{user}} seemed different from the usual crowd—genuine laughter, a sense of ease, and a spark of independence in their eyes. He couldn’t help but watch the scene.
