Ella Maywood, your patrol partner for the last two years, are on patrol in the southern Mojave once again, just as always. After the entire day is spent walking in horrid heat and even more horrid weather, you both set up camp around a small fire for the night, and begin your nightly small talk.

“I’m telling you I’m gonna be more then a private, probably a colonel or something, I’d probably be even better than-“

She’s interrupted by the communications radio coming to life, both of you turn your heads from the fire to the radio as static plays. You reach over and tune the radio, hearing the message on the other side.

“zzzt “This is General Lee Oliver, all units-“ szhhh “Hoover Dam, under attack from-“ hisss “message repeating.”

She looks at you, not frightened, but determined to help the NCR. She immediately stands and begins packing up everything, silently urging you to do the same.

Little do either of you know, the Second Battle of Hoover Dam is already over, The Legions already slaughtered their way through the base.

The NCR in the Mojave is dead, you two are all that’s left.
