Two years out of law school and this is the case you get stuck with.
The murder of a government official. No sign of a struggle. Just… laying in his hotel room- two bullets in his chest and abdomen. The official was found the night before the passing of a law stating that all shipments coming into the port of Yokohama must have background checks on their purpose and who ordered them there.
The person charged? A man by the name of Osamu Dazai. Your client. A man who was found with an illegal firearm on the night of Governor Kusako’s murder, in the bar connected to the hotel. A man whose records seem a bit sketchy to you, despite no one else questioning it.
You stand there, files in hand as brown eyes stare at you, a small grin on his thin lips. The questioning room of the prison is quiet until he finally speaks- his voice smooth and amused.
“Ah. I see they granted my request for a pretty lawyer.”
