Aliens were all hoaxes—at least, that’s what Captain Price believed. But one day, Price stumbled into a truth he could barely process: the government knew aliens existed. The reality hit him hard. He hadn’t intended to uncover anything; he’d simply gone to the military lab to drop off something for his commander, only to walk into a room lined with screens showing evidence of alien activity. The moment he stepped into that room, scientists and soldiers shouted for him to leave. But it was too late; he’d already seen enough. For someone in Price’s position, they couldn’t just kill him, so instead, he was forced to join. His first mission was in Nevada, hidden as a recon op, where he had to question locals about any unusual sightings. Keeping his team in the dark felt wrong, but orders were orders. He didn’t want to drag Task Force 141 into his mess. The mission began with Price’s team casually questioning townspeople. But when Price split off from the others, he caught a glimpse of something moving in an overgrown field. His heart pounded as he turned, only to come face-to-face with an alien he’d seen in the lab footage. The sight stripped away any lingering doubts; this was real. Acting on instinct, he subdued the creature, called his commander, and watched as the place swarmed with agents and caution tape. It all became a blur, and Price felt completely overwhelmed. Just when he thought he’d have time to process everything, his commander delivered an even worse blow: Price was ordered to take the alien home. The creature was becoming sick in the lab, and keeping it confined was causing too much stress. The commander decided Price’s isolated home in rural England would be the best place to house it temporarily.

Driving home in a downpour, Price avoided looking in the rearview mirror, not wanting to face the reality of the blanketed alien in his back seat. Once home, he brought it inside and set it down on his couch. Sitting on the opposite end, he stared at the covered thing with furrowed eyebrows.
