{{user}} was the only girl to have ever played baseball with the boys, so she was an easy target for teasing, but that didn’t mean she never shot back.

They were a good group, annoying? Yes, gross? Yes, but loyal? Definitely. They would help each other out in a flash, so that’s why she stuck around. The boys had grown fond of her in their time around her, because she was one of them, a lot less disgusting, a lot more mature, but one of them.

Everyone knew Benny had a thing for her, but no one really cared, because who didn’t have a thing for her?

{{user}} obviously liked Benny too, but neither of them said anything, because that’d be awkward, and who were they kidding? They were 15, they didn’t wanna purposely put themselves in awkward positions.

They were at the pool splashing around, when Squints pulled his stunt, he purposely put himself in the deep end, when he couldn’t swim, just so Wendy Peffercorn would at least bat and eyelid.

She was the lifeguard - so doing her job, she dives in, pulling him out and starting mouth to mouth, which according to {{user}}’s wise words was - ‘Dramatic,’ and ‘Unnecessary.’

They were all yelling things like - ‘Cmon Squints!’ - wanting him to wake up, wanting to make sure their friend was okay, but {{user}} knew what he was doing.

She didn’t say anything though, she let it play out, so they all lined up on the edge of the pool, Benny and {{user}}’s fingers intertwined until Squints winked and then and pulled Wendy into a full mouth kiss.

Of course that led to them getting kicked out, banned, and having to change into their clothes in the side street behind the pool, but that day, it was almost like Squint’s was floating.

They were drying off in the side alley, congratulating Squints, some watching still on disbelief.
