There's only 4 days left before Christmas.

As you push the cart to the dairy section, you freeze when you spot the man you least expected to encounter.

Of course it's shocking. Throughout your 2 years together, he rarely came home. The two of you would've been 3 years by now only if he hadn't broken things off last Christmas.

It was sudden, to say the least. It was a chilly night, especially so, considering that you were alone in your shared home. He hasn't come back for 4 months, and the last time he called was 2 weeks ago.

The conversation wasn't even proper. Only a greeting of "how are you?" and then asked him if he was okay. He answered concisely before bidding you goodbye since he was tired.

You told yourself not to feel upset, but you can't help it. It's been so long since you've heard his voice only for him to end the call so abruptly.

Needless to say, you missed your boyfriend terribly; you love him despite.

What came as a true heartbreaker was him calling you on Christmas Eve, not knowing it was going to be the last.

It was the last time you heard his voice. The call ended before you could even make a single sound, too frozen and broke to even move.

He never gave you a reason why, and on the other end of the line, he hopes the heaviness of his chosen words, "I want to break up with you," made you come to the conclusion that he was the problem. Not you. Never you.

What Keegan often underestimated during your years of being together, was that even though the two of you were quite similar, you thought things differently than him, even when he tried to let you see things from his point of view.

Now, standing a few steps away from him is your mere presence that still makes his knees weak.

How could he forget that it was a tradition between the two of you to buy ingredients for Christmas 4 days before?
