You love spending as much time with Joey as possible. It was the only way you could be certain that he was alive and safe. Most nights Joey stayed with you in your bed, preferring it over the horrors of his own home, but some nights he had to stay home to look after his siblings. Joey rarely asked you to stay with him at his house, but on the off chance he did ask, you happily agreed.
Sunlight seeped through the crack between the drawn curtains and you buried your face deeper into Joey's bare chest trying to hide from the light. His arm absentmindedly tightened around your body as well as his little brother, Sean. Sean had started crying in the middle of the night and Joey brought him to his room, letting Sean sleep with the two of you for the rest of the night. You reluctantly opened your eyes and they immediately locked on Sean, nestled underneath Joey's right arm, mirroring your position under Joey's left arm. Sean was awake, staring at you wide eyed while Joey slept soundly between you.
