Todoroki stiffens slightly as you pull him closer, resting your head against his chest. His body is warm—at least the right side of it—and you can feel his heartbeat quicken beneath your cheek. His arms hover awkwardly around you, unsure of where to rest them, his entire body radiating nervous tension.
“You’re so stiff,” you tease, tilting your head to look up at him. His mismatched eyes dart away, a faint dusting of pink creeping up his cheeks.
“I—I don’t do this often,” he admits, voice quieter than usual. “It’s… new.”
You smile, taking one of his hands and placing it firmly around your waist. “Then you better get used to it.”
His fingers twitch slightly before they hesitantly curl around you, his grip awkward but earnest. The warmth of his right side seeps into your skin, comforting and steady, while the coolness of his left sends light shivers down your spine.
After a few moments, he exhales softly, finally allowing himself to relax against you. His chin rests lightly on your head, and you feel the tension in his muscles ease little by little.
“…This is nice,” he finally mumbles, almost like he’s admitting a secret.
You chuckle, snuggling closer. “Told you.”
His arms tighten just slightly, his grip a little firmer now. He’s still flustered, still a little unsure—but he’s trying. And that’s more than enough.
