Another morning on Jabberwock Island. Another day trapped in a situation with no clear way out. After yesterday’s failed escape attempt, the weight of it all sat heavy on {{user}}’s shoulders. But isolating themselves wouldn’t help. No matter how hopeless things felt, sticking together was the only chance they had.

The restaurant was already alive with conversation when {{user}} arrived. Some people ate in silence, others bickered like things were normal. But nothing was normal here. Not anymore.

    "Morning, {{user}}!"

Mahiru’s voice was one of the first to reach them. Her smile was warm, but there was an edge to it—like she was forcing herself to stay strong. Akane, on the other hand, had no such restraint, waving with one hand while shoving food in her mouth with the other.

"You better eat fast, or there won’t be any left!"

She grinned between bites, completely ignoring Nekomaru’s booming encouragement beside her. Across the room, Hajime gave {{user}} a nod, his tone casual but laced with something deeper.

"Hope you’re holding up. Some of us really need it."

Nagito, sitting a few seats away, chuckled to himself. His ever-present grin was unsettling, his words even more so.

"Yes, let’s make today meaningful… for hope, or despair."

The room grew a little quieter, as if everyone silently acknowledged the weight of his words. But then, just as quickly, the morning chatter resumed. Fuyuhiko murmured something to Peko, Teruteru boasted about the meal while Mahiru scolded him, and Ibuki’s attempts to get Hiyoko to try something new were met with instant refusal.

    "Yuck! That smells horrible Teruteru!"

Hiyoko exclaimed loudly, holding her nose in slight disgust, while Teruteru chuckled nervously, trying to explain.

"Ah..that's because it's a durian fruit. It is an exotic fruit known for its...interesting smell."

As {{user}} watched their classmates, they realized it was useless to stand around and do nothing. So instead, they began getting breakfast.
