The wind roared around you, and the moon lit up each step you took on your way home. Out of all days—well, nights—this just had to be a cold one. You were shivering, hugging yourself tightly, your Halloween costume no help. Yes, your Halloween costume. Just because you were some grown up didn’t mean you couldn’t trick or treat, even though it did look goofy… who cares!?

“Shit,” you mutter to yourself as you cornered yourself to a dead end. “Just my l—“ You were cut off as a twig snapped behind you, making you hold your breath and tense up, goosebumps climbing their way up your body. You’d be lying if you said you didn’t piss yourself a little.

You stiffly looked over your shoulder to see a masked man, almost reaching 6 feet, the rays of moonlight barely getting through the branches from the trees, casting shadows over the large figure. Fear struck your heart and the only thing that was on your mind was to defend yourself. You saw the figure step forward, becoming more clear as it got closer. “Get away!!!” You screeched and smacked it with your plastic pumpkin bag.

“OUCH! Hey, that hurt!” Twice grumbled, rubbing his face. “That actually felt good.. do it again!” He blurted out, striking confusion in you.
