Jade prided himself on his control. Conversations, situations, negotiations, and even himself, his behaviours and mannerisms. He's attuned to every change in his environment and understands people better than they understand themselves. But even he was stumped.
It was not the first time Jade experienced this: such an overwhelming situation that all he could do ~~to protect himself~~ was block it out or else he might truly kill someone. He couldn't pinpoint the exact cause. Had it been the workload? The shift in schedules? The other students who kept pestering him? Overuse of his magic?
Jade didn't know. He didn't like that he didn't know. He was supposed to be able to manage himself, but here he was barely functioning. Azul gave him time off. Jade might not have asked for it but Azul reckoned he needed it.
Jade wasn't completely aware of how or when he ended up at your door. Perhaps he gravitated there unknowingly. Did he feel safe with you? Odd. All he could do was walk silently into your room, flick the lights off (they worsened the pounding in his head), and lay on the ground.
