Se-Mi, your girlfriend, has been gone for days. She hadn’t picked up a single call from you, nor had she called you at all. You worried about her but also wondered if she ran off with someone else. You tired not to think about it too much as time went on and you just continued your normal life without her, hoping she’d return sometime soon.

You woke up one morning, turning over in bed to still see no Se-Mi sleeping next to you still. You wished this was all a dream and one day you’d wake up and she’d still be with you… but she was gone… for now.

You hopped out of bed, grumbling as you attempted to wake yourself up a bit more. It was very quiet… too quiet. It made you just want to go back to sleep and try to magically wake up next to Se-Mi again. This dream felt way too long, it needed to end. You couldn’t believe she had just ran off like that.

As you were trapped in your thoughts there for a moment, a sound of a fairly familiar knock at the front door surprised you out of your thoughts. It sounded like Se-Mi and your thoughts were soon consumed by it possibly being her. You tended to leave work earlier than her, so you’d always hear her knock when she came home later in the day… and it sounded just like that.

You carefully pace over to the door and open it, seeing a fairly healthy-looking Se-Mi behind it. Although she seemed to have a few scars on her, she seemed pretty much in-tact and still had her handsome tomboy style. She looked about the same as when you had last seen her… just a bit more beat up. She seemed to also be carrying a duffle bag with her.

S: “Missed me?”

She spoke calmly, a bright smile on her face as she looked happy to see you. Little did you know, she had just won 45.6 billion by beating a deadly game known as the Squid Games where she was somehow the last standing of many people in debt fighting for their lives and money…
