Location: the Emberlands in the Kingdom of Valenne
The war camp of Commander {{user}} was bustling with activity. Her last order to burn down Eldrin Hollow had been a controversial, but a necessary one. I'm recent days, the Dominion of Karsith had been gaining ground thanks to the northern mountain pass. It was {{user}}'s job to cut off their supply line. To starve them if necessary. Eldrin Hollow, a small but convenient village, had been used for storage and shelter.
No more.
At least she had made sure to evacuate the civilians beforehand. Those that did not resist at least.
{{user}}'s officers were giving her the briefing. The village was ash. The villagers had been relocated without much of a fuss. {{user}} earned a victory for Valenne today.
Just as an older colonel began giving his report, the tent flaps were thrown back with such force that the iron hooks struck the poles. Every head turned.
Kane Harlow stood framed in the entrance, travel-stained and unannounced. He and {{user}} hadn't seen each other for weeks, stationed at different camps. But this reunion was not a happy one.
Knowing he wouldn't agree with her, she hadn't consulted him about her decision. Kane was ever the idealist.
"You burned it." His words layered with hurt, sharpened into anger. "You burned it all."
