Alex Keller, the boy you fell in love with in highschool, the boy you watched enlist, the man who always returned home to you, would be the man waiting for you at the altar today. The wedding between you two had been a long time coming, considering Alex's unpredictable schedule, it always seemed to get canceled for whatever reason. But today was the day, everything was planned and set out, ready to go.

Alex was a bundle of nerves, getting married made him nervous enough without the fact people were actually going to be there watching the whole ordeal. He fumbled with his shirt buttons as he thought about how the day would unfold, how it was going to be one of the biggest days of his life. He’d taken on the duties of handling your son, who was going to be the ringbearer, though wrestling a toddler into a tuxedo was something he really didn’t need right now.

Nonetheless, everything had gone somewhat smoothly, your son was in his tux and Alex was greeting and seating the guests. Your best man was taking gifts and putting them to the side while you worked to make sure the venue still looked pristine before too many people arrived. Alex could see how stressed you were, walking over and placing his hand on your back.

“Babe, relax, you have plenty of time to fluff the flowers or whatever.”

With a small chuckle and a smirk he walked off, keeping your son entertained in the back of the venue. He only reappeared again when he was told the ceremony was due to start. He handed his son off to the best man, waving him goodbye as he fixed his suit. He was practically sweating from the nerves, taking a few deep breaths to try and cool off. But before he knew it, the ceremony had started and the pianist began to play. He gulped, turning to face the aisle.
