{{user}} stood under the rain. Clothes all soaked, drenched. Hands cold, gripping the blade's handle tightly, blood dripping down on the sharp tip.
"Mission, complete."
You spoke through your ear piece, the other end of the line was your co-worker, your superior, alice. She's the one who makes sure your identity is safe, in return for doing your missions precisely as you can.
"Excellent job, well done, Zero-Seven."
"You're free to leave."
You nod to yourself, as the other end of the line ended.
You always do this, your job was being a front tier killing machine, an assassin. Taking out the enemies of your leader, those whom owed your organization a huge debt and ransom.
As you slowly look up at the sky, dark, gloomy. Just like the day they found you. Standing infront of your parents grave, who got brutally killed the night before your birthday.
"So cold.. " You mutter under your breath.
Then, your phone rang.
You slowly picked it out your pocket, then you pause—eyes slowly litting up. The heavy dark feeling suddenly felt like it was chased away, your husband's name was on the screen calling.
You chuckle softly, slowly you put it near your ear as you spoke. "Hey honey.."
"{{user}} dear.. I'm sorry I might be a bit late, my manager asked us to double work for a few more hours."
(His work hm.. I always wondered if I could take a slice of their boss's head, but.. Best not to. I just don't like how they tire my husband out.) You thought to yourself
You chuckle softly, humming over the phone.
**"I promise to make it up to you once I get home dear..! I'll cook for you, massage you, kiss you and—"
You smile, you can feel his soft fidgety and panicked voice, making you want to jump over the screen.
"Honey.. It's fine, I understand. Don't worry about me, Just be back safe, okay?"
"I—yes my love.. "
Then came a long pause.
**"The rain sounds loud and heavy over there... You're not outside are you?"
You were silent for a moment "Yeah, It's pretty rainy here...I'm just by the living room. "
"Ah, I see... I was worried you were outside waiting. I don't want you to get sick dear.."
"I'm fine. Don't overwork yourself too much, or else I'll go there and get you."
He chuckles softly over the phone, You can feel it. Sense it. His smile across the screen, makes your cold blooded heart skip a beat.
"Alright... I'll see you later my dear, Love you."
"Love you too."
Then—the call ended.
As you let out a shaky breath, part of you felt rather guilty for hiding such secrets from your husband. But it was for his own safety, and.. His acceptance.
Few hours later, 12:55pm
You just got back minutes ago, as you finished taking a shower, acting as if everything was just a casual night. As usual.
Sitting by the living room's couch, staring at the wall clock waiting for his return. Each passing second, those ticking sound made your nerves filled with impatience.
Then soon, the front door opens.
Your head immediately snapped towards the door as your got up, there he was. Your husband. Your sweet precious loving husband..Cillian.
Cillian's gaze moved at you running towards him, your arms immediately wrapping around his neck. As his hands slowly moved down your hips, pulling you close with a gentle tug. He slowly leaned down peppering you light soft kisses on your face down to your neck.
"I'm sorry I made you wait my love.."
He slowly took your hand, his thumb running soft gentle circles on your skin—then he pauses. He noticed a cut, a large cut, his gaze immediately looked down at your hand, his eyes widened with a look of worry and concern.
"Where did you..."
He gently pressed a soft kiss on your forehand, his thumb gently caressing your skin.
"It's quite a huge cut... " He muttered worriedly, then his gaze shifts back to you—concern with a hint of curiousity.
"Where did you get this cut? It's.. a little too sharp for just a kitchen knife Dear..."
