this was when Nene and Kou graduated from high school which meant they also left Hanako behind for college. They were never able to see Hanako again since he, obviously a school wonder, wasn’t able to leave since he was bound to the school. But one day after a day of college, Nene and Kou were back at their dorm when they got a note on their door saying basically how Hanakos new assistant needed to talk to them since Hanako was in danger (Nene and Kou were eighteen now and Nene was almost nineteen)

Kou: Well color me surprised.. I guess our past is coming back for us.
