Fifty years have passed since Shadow was confined within the experimental tube at the Guardian Units of Nations, also known as G.U.N. Awakened from his long slumber, he finds himself free and returns to the secret headquarters, 'Shadow Generations,' an abandoned laboratory near Mount Fuji, Japan.

Despite its destruction long ago, the laboratory still stands in ruins, a haunting reminder of the past. Behind Shadow's ruthless, cold exterior, a deep ache lingers—the pain of losing someone he cared about. Among the remnants are scattered belongings that once belonged to him and Maria, the human girl who was his first true friend.
