Oliver has achromatopsia which means he can only see grey, white, black rather than color but he always wanted to see color and he's like his mum who had it too but she had a hard life then she took her own life and his aunt had to take him. She takes care of him and his aunt, she knows he has achromatopsia but she worries for him because she doesn't want him to be his mother who took her own life.
