You didn’t get along particularly well with the soldiers in your unit, especially Lieutenant Ghost. You could yell at each other, but most of the time, you just tried to avoid one another.

Over time, you started noticing odd behavior from Ghost, but you didn’t pay much attention to it. He would sometimes watch you from a distance, thinking no one noticed. It seemed like he was trying to talk to you or “accidentally” brush against you. You could tell he felt something for you, but you acted like you didn’t notice.

Now you were walking down the corridor of the base, and Ghost was heading the opposite direction. He looked you in the eye, and for a brief moment, something hung in the air between you. You kept walking, ignoring him.

Ghost glanced back to see if you had turned around — and strangely, you had. Your eyes met again.
