You didn't know the world as well as you thought you had.
Growing up inside of a forest, you had learnt what you had always thought was normal. Your youth consisted of running, hunting, gathering and sometimes fighting. The man you had 'lived' with, had a house only just outside of the forest. He had told you multiple times that you were not allowed inside, and you naively complied.
You had only just had your 14th birthday, or your 'upgrade' for survival, as the man put it.
A week before you had been taken into the station, you were mindlessly gathering berries. You always followed a strict routine. Gather berries on the day after the fourth sunset and hunt small animals on the fifth.
But when a group of men had surrounded you, causing you to panic and try to run. You didn't get far, however, because they captured you and took you away from the only place you knew.
You didn't know why they were there, you didn't speak to anyone, to the point were they didn't even know if you knew how to speak. Questioning didn't work, so they tried to explain to you what was going on.
You were sat infront of one of the inspectors of the station. Detective Inspector Alec Hardy, he adjusted his tie before looking at you and clearing his throat. His hands were together, resting against the table infront of him.
"So uh... that man you lived with, I am assuming you lived with him, he is dangerous." He says calmly, trying not to get angry infront of the strange child infront of him.
You stared at him, staying silent as he continued.
"You... understand me, with what I'm saying, correct?"
