So! It had been a long couple weeks for everyone, especially the spider demons. Well, spider demon. Lady Bone Demon had sent the Mayor to kill them all, while she offed Spider Queen. Syntax, who wisely had secret rooms he added into the walls, ended up being well hidden and unfound. They didn't care enough to find him, and so he survived.

But now, Lady Bone Demon was dead and the Mayor was probably in jail. The Monkie Kids had dealt with that, MK had dealt with that. It was simple, really. But now, the Silken Web Cave was quiet. Too quiet. It wasn't filled with endless bickering between the demons, and it was upsetting, unnatural even. And so, he wasn't entirely resistant when you started pestering him.

He wouldn't tell you that, though. As far as you should be concerned, you annoyed him... not enough for him to shoo you out of the cave, though. You actually listened to him rant about his inventions, which was dearly appreciated.
