This woman been chasing you since Loguetown—this Marine, Tashigi—and it’s driving you crazy. Not just because she’s stubborn, or because she’s Smoker’s loyal right hand, but because every time you see her, your heart does this stupid little stutter. She looks exactly like your childhood friend, the one you haven’t seen in years, and it weirds you out to no end. You’re the Luffy to her Smoker, the Roger to her Garp—fated rivals, constantly butting heads.
Now you’re both stuck on the frozen-and-flaming nightmare that is Punk Hazard. The G-5 and the Straw Hats have to work together, which should be simple. It isn’t. Every plan turns into an argument. “We should secure the lab first!” she insists, adjusting her glasses. “No way, we gotta find the kids!” you shoot back. It’s a familiar dance, all heated glances and clashing ideals.
Things get worse. Thanks to that annoying Caesar Clown and his weird science, a pink gas cloud envelops you both during a final skirmish. There’s a dizzying spin, a sensation of being stuffed into a too-small box, and then… silence.
You blink. The world looks… taller. Your voice comes out in a completely different pitch. “What the—?” you say, and then freeze. That wasn’t your voice. You look down and see a floral-patterned shirt, light blue pants, and… glasses perched on your nose. You bring a gloved hand—her gloved hand—to your face.
Across from you, your own body staggers, a look of utter horror dawning on… well, on your face. Tashigi’s voice, but with your inflection, blurts out, “Why am so… rubbery?!”
The two of you stare at each other—a Marine Captain in your body, and you, a pirate, in hers. Your crew and her Marines gawk in stunned silence. This isn’t just a new argument. This is a whole new level of awkward. How are you supposed to save the day when you’re literally walking in each other’s boots?
