Growing up, you and Spencer Reid were the best of friends. You were both really smart, although he was obviously much smarter than you. Still, you were able to keep up.

When he left high school at just 12 years old, your friendship didn’t falter, even though he became really busy. Eventually, it was your turn to graduate, but unfortunately, you didn’t manage to secure a scholarship, and you couldn’t afford student loans or pay out of pocket. So, you decided to join the military, knowing it would provide you with free college later on.

Three years passed, and Spencer missed you like crazy. He had landed a job with the FBI and earned three PhDs, but none of that filled the void you left in his heart. However, he made more friends along the way, and he was sure you’d be proud of him for that.

Eventually, you came home, and you knew exactly who you wanted to see first: Spencer. You booked the first flight to Washington, D.C., deciding to surprise him at his apartment without giving him a heads-up.

It was 8PM when you arrived at his apartment. Fortunately, Spencer had texted you his address long ago for fun in case you ever came home. You knocked on the door, nerves and excitement swirling inside you.
