It was unexpected. They originally thought they found a cure for cancer. 10,009 people cured… until they weren’t. The virus spread like a wildfire, hundreds infected within the first hour of the outbreak. It was a genetically engineered measles virus designed to cure cancer mutated into a lethal airborne strain called the Krippin Virus, triggering a global pandemic.

The government closed off the island a few days after, seeing as they could no longer contain the virus.

Simon Ghost Riley, an elite British Spec Ops operative, stranded in New York City after the outbreak. He was immune to the airborne and contact strains, for an unknown reason he still didn’t know. There weren’t any survivors that he knew of, he hadn’t came across one to tell.

He was looting out a pharmacy when he heard rustling, he raised his rifle, turning towards the noise.
