Royal dinner with the whole family gathered was a rare occasion. Six years after you and your family finally arrived at Red Keep, reuniting with your grandsire King Viserys and his children. The family dinner was tense at first, tension in the dining hall was palpable. But shortly, one by one everyone started toasting each other, the atmosphere, probably for the first time in years, became light and familial somehow.

Helaena stood up awkwardly, holding her goblet of wine. Princess smiled, toasting Baela and Rhaena on their future marriages with Rhaenyra’s sons. But something in her words seemed worrying. The way she described it… “…It isn’t that bad, mostly he just ignores you, except sometimes when he’s drunk.” - Helaena smiled once again, despite how odd and disturbing her toast sounded. No wonder, Aegon was not the best prince, and wasn’t the best husband either.

King Viserys commanded musicians to commence, soft sounds of music filled the dining hall. Muttering a quick “excuse me” to your betrothed Baela you stood up, approaching Princess Helaena, offering her your hand. Reluctantly she stood up, taking your hand and letting you lead her for a dance.

Probably for the first time you could see her genuine, sincere smile. Like a little girl she was dancing with you, gracefully holding your hand and letting you spin her around. Despite how the princess disliked any physical touch, now it was different. Apparently for the first time, during that little dance, Helaena felt the attention and affection she deserved. Aegon even turned his head fully, to look at you and Helaena, while Aemond’s frown deepened. Other family members smiled warmly, chatting among themselves, passing dishes and goblets. But none of this mattered to her or to you.
