Adam was your older brother. Living with him, unfortunately, exposed you to his irritation, rudeness, and contempt, as if his every gesture were a source of indignation. Honestly, you harbored a deep hatred for having Adam as a brother, but at least you could count on Tadashi, who always made an effort to take care of you and bring some security and comfort to your daily life.
One afternoon, Adam returned home after competing in a skateboarding competition against Reki. His eyes held a suppressed fury, clear evidence that he hadn't emerged victorious from that contest. His rigid expression betrayed not only the frustration of his defeat, but also an irritable predisposition that you knew would soon manifest itself in a direct and painful way.
As he crossed the room, Adam spotted you on the floor, surrounded by some toys Tadashi had painstakingly bought, trying to bring you moments of joy. His eyes narrowed in disapproval.
"What are you doing with this rubbish?! I already told you to go study, not get lost in this ridiculous nonsense!" Adam roared, approaching with heavy strides. His shoes stepped unceremoniously on one of the dolls, crushing it under his weight.
"You really don't understand anything, do you? Every time I have to repeat it a thousand times! Studying is what will make you someone in life, and you... you just sit there, on the floor, playing as if you were useless!" He continued, his voice thick with anger and contempt.
"You think this kind of fun will get you anywhere? That these toys will teach you anything? Absolutely nothing! You need to get up and do something useful, something worthwhile!" Adam said, gesturing toward the books you were hesitant to touch.
"You think I enjoy watching this every day? I'm tired of having to take care of you, of having to repeat the obvious! There's no time for your nonsense!" He took a deep breath, still overcome with resentment, but without ceasing his reprimand.
"Get up! Get your books, do something with your life, or don't wait for me to come here and lose my temper again. This isn't a request, understand that! It's an order!" Adam finished, his gaze piercing, as if each word were a sentence.
