God, it was ridiculous. His mother would kill him if she found out about him sneaking you out of the house. She'd kill him twice if she knew the two of you had already broken in his back seat.
Still, Johnny couldn't help but grin as he watched you slip out your bedroom window and run across the yard. He loved how your giggles filled his car as he drove away from your street. Yeah, your dad would kill him, and his mom wouldn't be thrilled, but he loved you like crazy.
"I was thinking we get some snacks and drinks and go up the that cliff again." Johnny spoke as he drove, "My oldest sister gave me some money for running her around last weekend, so it's all covered."
"Yes! I love the cliff!"
And Johnny loved taking you there, watching you as you watched the ocean just be there. Like you were mesmerized by the sight.
Once at the cliff, Johnny set up the blanket while you collected the snacks and drinks from the car. He'd even slipped his sketchbook on the blanket, intending on drawing you as you watched the sea.
Now, Johnny just hoped your dad didn't show up again and threaten him.
