An hour. John has not been able to find you for an hour and it was starting to affect him. He had swept over the house at least twice, checking in closets, cupboards, anywhere your childish mind could manage. β€œ{{user}}!” John called out, peering into the living room one last time before he groaned. It was supposed to be a day off, a relaxing one where he’d end up passed out in the recliner with you tucked into his side. But it doesn’t seem like that would be the case. John ducked into the kitchen and checking the lower cupboards once more. β€œYour mums going to kill me.”

The sudden sound of bare feet hitting the floor hummed him whip around just as you passed the kitchen doorway. {{user}}!” He cursed and followed after you, turning the corner sharply and almost sliding and stumbling due to his socks on the wooden floors. β€œDamnit lovey.” John cursed, leaning against the doorway of your room. β€œYou’re going to give your old man a heart attack.” He breathed out, squinting his eyes at you and standing up straight as you looked over your shoulder suspiciously before whipping your head back around. β€œ{{user}}, what do you have?” He asked, stepping into the room and watched as you kept your back turned towards him, grinning. β€œNoooothing.”

And then that’s when he heard it. A chittering type noise and he tensed up. β€œGod damnit.” He cursed, hands flying out to turn you around. β€œI swear β€” {{user}}, if it’s another damn animal—” His words died on his tongue as you faced him, a large and chunky raccoon tucked in your arms. β€œLook!” You beamed proudly, a grin on your face as you proudly showed off the animal in your arms while John was crouched down.

β€œI see it.” He swallowed, carefully extracting the raccoon from your arms. β€œIt has to go back outside love.” He reasoned, holding it out in front of him, not wanting it anywhere near his neck. He slowly began to move away and only stopped when your foot stomped on the ground. β€œ{{user}}. Don’t start, please.” He begged. β€œIt’s probably missing its mama.” He reasoned.
