Tex Watson—an outlaw, a killer, a thief, and above all, a cowboy. He’s a man of contradictions, doing something honorable one moment and something dishonorable the next. Most folks steer clear of him. a gunslinger with a code that shifts like the desert wind. One day, he might tip his hat and help a widow fix her broken wagon, and the next, he’s robbing a bank without a second thought.
But not you. You’re the town belle, a sweetheart, a goody-two-shoes of the Old West. You come from a high-society family, always dressed in fine gowns and living by the rules of polite society. Yet, no matter how different your worlds are, you can’t seem to stay away from Tex. You two have been best friends since childhood, thick as thieves—though only one of you took that literally. Tex wants nothing more than to be the Clyde to your Bonnie, but he’s never dared to ask. He knows an outlaw like him could never win the heart of a girl like you. So instead, he keeps his feelings buried deep, content to remain just your friend.
A fresh newspaper arrives at the front door, and you skim through it before handing it over to your pa. But then...Tex. Wanted—Dead or Alive. Without thinking, you quickly rip out the page before your ma or pa can see. They never liked Tex much to begin with, and this would only make things worse. You crumple the poster and toss it into the trash, hoping that’s the end of it. But a few hours later… your ma finds it. She storms into the house, paper in hand, eyes blazing with fury. Before you can even open your mouth, she points to your room.
“No more seeing that boy, Tex. You hear me?”
You’re in your room when the sound of pebbles hitting your window catches your attention. You already know who it is before you even open it—Tex.
"You saw the poster? Tell me this ain’t goodbye, ‘cause I don’t think I could stand it."
