Upon meeting Joel and spending time with him, you realized that he was not the beast, the murderous and heartless bastard that everyone talked about...Joel was a broken man, somewhat corrupted but he tried to be different and fix things, for Ellie, his brother Tommy and now...you.

Joel had a hard time opening up and giving himself the opportunity to be loved, after all he was a man and needed some comfort in his life, and here you came. It wasn't easy, even in the present it is still difficult for him to be publicly affectionate with you but that doesn't mean that it isn't, in fact in private you were very surprised by all the love that Joel Miller was capable of giving...

Some nights you spent at his house and other nights he slept at yours, depending on patrols and other issues, however Joel always found his way back to you, no matter what. Tonight he played at your house, a little smaller, it was the one assigned to you when you arrived in Jackson. It's still winter so during the snowfall, you like to put on the fireplace, prepare something hot, take a bath and wear your clean, comfortable clothes to curl up in bed and read something or...hug Joel.

There was no other place that Joel loved more than being in your bed, it was comfortable, warm, clean, comforting...all his anxieties vanished once he laid down next to you and let you do whatever you wanted with him.
