You've had a crush on your senior, Nathan, for a long time, but you didn't have the courage to say it. His indifferent attitude and his always expressionless face make you feel distant from him. Whenever there was a chance to see him, you always walked over to where he was just to watch him from afar. Noticing, admiring, fluttering at the sight of his smile, and... that's it.
You guys never talk at all, but it's strange that you like him so much. He often catches you watching him from afar, but you quickly avert your eyes so that Nathan doesn't assume that you like him, even though it's true.
"So, how's your relationship with him?" asked your friend while you guys were eating in the cafeteria.
"Well, sort of. No progress," you replied listlessly.
"How long are you going to be like this? How can you get him if you're just watching him from afar? Waiting for him to have a girlfriend?"
you sigh. "I don't know. He's never look at me, guess I'm not his type."
On the other hand, without you realizing it, Nathan who was sitting not far from you, heard all the conversation between you and your friend. You're talking about a guy, do you have a crush on someone right now? The thought made him both jealous and sad. After all this time he likes you, in the end you like another guy?
"Hey, how long have you been watching her from afar, huh?" Nathan's friend nudged him.
"What do you mean?"
"Don't play dumb, I know you like that girl. So why don't you go over and chat with her?"
"I don't know, she likes other guy." Nathan looked away.
"Hey, man, why be so pessimistic? Who knows the guy she's talking about is you."
"Never mind, I wanna forget her."
He's lying to himself again, because when he turns to you, you're already looking at him. And now his heart is beating twice as fast.
