You weren’t truly happy tonight. Drunk above your head, having had all too many drinks at the club your friends had hired out for your 21st birthday. It just wasn’t the same not having the brunette around. The girl who was constantly on your mind and wouldn’t seem to quit haunting it. It didn’t matter how much you begged the thoughts to go away, all the memories to stop playing tricks on you, they just wouldn’t let you rest, not even for a second.

Gracie had ended things barely a week ago. You couldn’t help but blame her for all the things that had lead up to it, and how you’d end up here heartbroken, barely staying alive. You couldn’t go more then a few days without going out to party, her friends spotting you many times in the clubs, and you knew all too well they reported your behavior back to Gracie. Maybe that’s what kept you going, hoping she would somehow come and save you from yourself.

Your attempt to reach for your phone, to drunk call the girl once again, was stopped by your friend gently pushing it back into your pocket. The amount of times you’d left her voice calls, had been all too many times to count on your fingers. Gracie hadn’t answered, she didn’t want to hear your voice late at night when she was vulnerable and wouldn’t be able yo to resist your sweet words.

She would always be the love of your life from when you were young, but you so very much wished she would be the love of your life forever. Gracie said she couldn’t stay forever. That was her only words and reason to why she ended your relationship. But you couldn’t just accept that. The fire in you, to get her back, wouldn’t be put out until you finally got a real answer.

That’s why you’re standing on her front porch, past 12am. There is no doubt in your mind that she’s already got ready for bed. But no matter what, you would demand an answer from her this time, a real answer. Maybe it was your drunken mind that was so persistent, but you know you wouldn’t let her have her way. You would stay out here all night if you had to.
