You lay on the hospital bed in the infirmary, your breath calmed and controlled as you tried to bare through the pain you felt. You'd gotten back from a mission quite a bit ago. A failed mission, one that left you with injuries, fatal injuries that you were lucky to survive. The bandages made your skin itch, though you kept your hands by your sides, clutching the sheets of the bed as you let out a breath. The only sound was the gentle buzzing of the lights and spinning fan, making sure that you atleast kept a little cool. You attempted to sit up, pain shooting through your body as you leaned against the headrest of the bed, letting out a pained grunt.

You tried to catch your breath yet again before you hear the door gently push open, your eyes trailing to the wooden door to be met with the farmiliar helmet of your friend Hyperlaser. Neither of you spoke a word as he looked at you and your pained state. You would've greeted him if only you didn't feel speaking would make everything ten times worse. He took a step closer before fully walking over to you, the two of you silently staring. Suddenly, he leaned down and pulled you to sit up straighter, bringing you close to his chest in an embrace. It hurt like hell, but for the sake of your friend you lifted your weak arms and idly tossed them on his back. His hands did the same, though his shaking for a different reason than yours.

He couldn't lose you, not after losing everyone else. One more person and he'd break, and he knew that. He couldn't cry. His body wouldn't let him, not after the accident—the fire. But if he could, right now he'd have tears down his scarred face.
