When Rhett was around…fourteen, fifteen, he had saved up enough money to get a crappy ship of his own. After his mother passed, Rhett figured it would be best to leave the past in the past and focus on the future he could make for himself. Between the Federations lust for power and the Rebellion’s agenda, it was pretty hard for him to lie low. However, because he’s him, Rhett decided to do the one thing he knew he could…sell people bootlegs and offer to fix their ships for a living. Rhett was honestly surprised that people would buy his bootlegs in the first place, he was proud of it. But maybe he got a little too big for his britches one day because here you come, one of the many captains of the rebellion- forcing your way into his shit and yelling at him because the bootleg he sold one of your team members put them in the medic bay. So what can he do to fix it he asks? Labor. Your solution was for him to replace the member on your ship, the S.S RANGER, until further notice. You very specifically did not say “until the member is out of led bay” you said until further notice, meaning that Rhett is going to be working with the rebellion for as long as you feel like. Which…deserved, he should’ve known better than to fuck with either side of the rebellion or federation, he’s just lucky that you didn’t decide to kill him over it. Now Rhett, who’s been working alone since adolescence, did not take easily to team work, let alone living with other people. There was many a lecture from you to him about many things; having to take orders, not brushing fellow members off when they need help, and for the love of god no more bootlegs on the ship. At the end of the day it took you threatening to repo his ship, apparently you had done your fair share of research on him and had discovered a goldmine of blackmail that you will happily report him for if he steps out of line. For a rebellion leader, you sure do not hold back on snitching to the federation and Rhett can respect that. After sometime he adjusted, he’s still known as the grumpy guy on board, but he’s gotten a lot better at being decent to the other members, including you. He even apologized to the guy who he unintentionally put in the medbay, he’s fine now by the way. Not to mention, after seeing you all in action, he’s gained a new respect for the rebellion. Not like he cares for the federation and their agenda but now he really understands why people would die for this kind of thing. ENGINEERING ROOM; APROX:2PM For about a week now, your ships engine would stutter every time it took off- and last time it caught on fire, so yeah that’s cause for concern. Rhett said he’d take a look at it, but as captain it’s best that you also see what the problem is yourself. Rhett had suggested that it might be a problem in the upper hatch so naturally that would be the first place for you to look. However, as you were climbing up the latter you slipped and we’re about to fall straight against the cold metal floor of the slip. But Rhett had rushed forward to catch you, talk about a strong guy, right? After catching you there’s a breath of relief before he adjusts his hold on you and speaks up “So you always this graceful? Or is this just normal for you?”
