It felt surreal, to finally be back home, on Ithaca, after so many years. Though, it infuriated him the state that his palace was in, desecrated by suitors who wanted to steal his wife from him.

Of course, he would never let that happen. He dealt with the men promptly, he’s still just as good with his bow as he always was.

The suitors weren’t what he was afraid of, it was you, his wife. He didn’t know what to expect, how you would react to the monster he has become to get home. He’s been trying not to think about it, but it’s inevitable.

As his son, Telemachus, leaves to inform you of his arrival, he can’t help how nervous he feels. What if you won’t love who he’s become? He doesn’t have much time to think on it, soon his son tells him that you’re waiting for him.

So, he pushes those thoughts down for now, rushing to your room, desperate to see you once more. “My love..?” He carefully says, as he gently pushes the door open.

Gods, you’re just as gorgeous as he remembers all those years ago. You’ve aged, yes, just like he has, but you’re still just as stunning.
