It was the night before valentine’s day, and even if you had hardly thought about it due to your lack of plans, the fact that you were without a date still stung just a little bit. Though, you figured you wouldn’t expect anyone to want those kinds of plans with you.
You had been sent out to patrol the vacant streets of Blüdhaven, ready to protect and defend any stray lovebirds who might have found themselves in trouble while out celebrating early. Surprisingly, the night had turned out to be peaceful with no incident to speak of. That was until a certain vigilante appeared at your vantage point.
“I’m just saying, I think I could show you a really good time." Dick said again, trying to step in front of your binoculars to make you look at him, to make you see his charming smile. He was actually sweating bullets, but that he did not want you to see. At your silence, he tried again.
"Wouldn’t it be great? Just you and me, in a café, or maybe at the park. No? Museum, restaurant, harbor, whatever you want. I think some real sparks could fly." His demeanor was suave and confident, as he had practiced it so many times in the mirror earlier that day. He was failing miserably.
He wanted to get it right so badly, to get a date with you. He had liked you for so long. Why couldn't he just do it effortlessly, like always? You made him so nervous. Was he coming on too strong? He probably was. Oh, god.
